Tucson Medical Center – Tucson
Tucson offers the best of both worlds – a real sense of progress and innovation in a relaxed atmosphere. It’s the perfect combination for travel nurses looking for a new and exciting location for their next travel nursing assignment.
Since Tucson is known for valuing the quality of life over development, it makes sense that it’s home to one of the southwest’s major healthcare facilities - Tucson Medical Center. Tucson Medical Center, part of a system known as TMC HealthCare, has become one of the 300 largest hospitals in the country and the largest in Southern Arizona. TMC has earned numerous awards in recent years, including Quality Leader and Consumer Choice designations by the National Research Council, and listings in the Top 100 hospitals for stroke care and orthopedics by Solucient in Modern Healthcare magazine. TMC remains the first Tucson hospital named to the national list of 100 Top Hospitals.
TMC is licensed for 609 adult and skilled nursing beds, 62 psychiatric beds (Palo Verde Mental Health Services) and 90 bassinets. The hospital serves more than 30,000 inpatients and 122,000 outpatients yearly and has several emphasis areas, including maternal child health, cardiac care, hospice care, neuroscience, oncology, orthopedics, diagnostic services, behavioral health and senior services. TMC also has the region's only emergency department dedicated specifically for kids and the only hyperbaric chamber in Southern Arizona.
