Jobs Facility Spotlight New York - Presbyterian

New York - Presbyterian

The Big Apple is known as the "city that never sleeps." It's safe to say life in the big city has big demands, especially when it comes to medical care. And no one fulfills that demand quite like NewYork - Presbyterian Hospital. Consisting of a network of top-quality medical centers all across the five boroughs, it ranked as the sixth-best hospital in the United States in 2007 by the U.S. News and World Report. It also has more nursing specialties than any other hospital in the New York area. That means plenty of opportunity for travel nurses.

Along Manhattan's upper east side, the renowned NewYork Weill Cornell Medical Center operates as an 847 bed Ivy League teaching hospital. Venture west and further uptown to find the distinguished Columbia University Medical Center. This 687 bed Ivy League teaching hospital is located in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan. And in one of Manhattan's most beautiful neighborhoods, you'll find the Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital.

Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital is a 200 bed Ivy League teaching hospital known as one of the world's major centers for basic and clinical pediatric research. It ranked as one of the top five children's hospitals in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, the only pediatric hospital in the New York tri-state area to earn this honor. The nationally recognized Westchester Division of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is a 583 bed Psychiatric hospital. It provides comprehensive behavioral health services, and related research and education programs.

And finally, located in Manhattan's Washington Heights, but still a world away from the fast-paced city life, is the Allen Pavilion of NewYork-Presbyterian. A three-story building with 300 beds, it was opened in July 1988 to provide health services for Northern Manhattan and the Bronx. The Emergency Medicine Department of the Allen Pavilion cares for 26,000 patients each year, 5,000 of who are subsequently admitted for inpatient care. As you can tell, New York offers plenty of travel nursing opportunities.
