Florida Hospital - Orlando

While Orlando, Florida is one of the world's busiest vacation spots, it's also home to one of the best hospital systems in the country - Florida Hospital. It's no secret that Orlando and its surrounding areas offer plenty to do and see, including a few theme parks you may have heard of. And no matter where go, you'll always be just an hour away from the beautiful white sandy beaches that make Florida a tropical paradise. It's also a travel nursing paradise in terms of opportunity.

Florida Hospital is an acute-care health system that has 2,801 beds throughout Central Florida. Its comprised of a network of 17 hospitals and 12 Centra Care walk-in urgent care centers. It also treats more than one million patients each year. In fact, the Florida Hospital system is the second busiest system in the country. All of it spells success for the travel nurse.

With all its facilities, the Florida Hospital network offers a wide variety of health services for the entire family, including many nationally and internationally recognized programs in cancer, cardiology, women's medicine, diabetes, neurology, orthopedics and rehabilitation. For the ninth consecutive year, U.S. News &World Report has recognized Florida Hospital as one of "America's Best Hospitals". In addition, because Florida Hospital performs more complex cardiac cases than any other facility in the country, MSNBC selected Florida Hospital as the premier focus of their hour long special-"Heart Hospital."

For a prospective traveling nurse, the Florida Hospital network includes: Florida Hospital Orlando, Altamonte, Celebration Health, Winter Park Memorial, Kissimmee, Apopka, and East Orlando, which cares for more than 100,000 patients including more than 10,000 inpatients and 65,000 outpatients, and 56,000 emergency patients - more than any of the other Florida Hospital emergency departments.
